If this sensor fails the ECU will throw the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper chain of timing. The code won't appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or audi Q7 Key G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult as there are two different connector pins, and they serve different purposes but the most effective method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. If you're experiencing issues with this component, look for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll, i experienced a big cut in power as if the engine was running out of gas or injectors aren't firing any more. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stays closed. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car will start if the G28 is unplugged and is running fine when it is plugged in but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.
I'm not sure what to do, as i believe that i've ruled out everything else. However, i'm afraid that I might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please share them! TIA!

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and both are used in the 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a junkyard or from a parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector).
