WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The Item level upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
