1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the edge of transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends signals to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. When i crank the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th one stays closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car is able to start if the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is connected however it has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is 0.

I'm not sure what to do, but i think i've pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. But i am afraid I might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump
